Hi! Welcome to ChristianRoots Canada

I'm the Curious Canadian History Buff discovering how God used people and events to establish Canada - events like the building of the Peace Tower, the engraving of 25 Scripture Verses in it and the man who put them there. I discovered that our universities were built by Christians wanting to train ministers and teachers. Read the ARTICLES on our website and sign up for our courses.

Remembering Vimy Ridge Day - Thursday April 9th.

Did you know that Thursday, April 9th, is Vimy Ridge Day? Did you know that there is actually a Vimy Ridge Day Act? The taking of Vimy Ridge was a pivotal day in Canadian history where 3,598 Canadian soldiers died, and 10,602 Canadian soldiers were wounded at Vimy Ridge. Watch this 7-minute video, narrated by William Shatner, in honour of those brave Canadian soldiers. There are many videos extolling the impact of this victory on our sense of nationhood. Here is another 14-minute one by Peter...

Providence or Chance? You Tell Me

Good Friday This Easter, before I chronicle some amazing experiences that I could not orchestrate, I encourage you to remember Christ's great sacrifice on the cross, his death, and resurrection from the grave. This Christian heritage is shouted from the South Stained Glass Window of the Peace Tower. In that window, there are 4 images in the first row. They represent: Michael the Archangel, St. George, Justice, and Joan of Arc. The image of Justice demonstrates God's love for us and the...

Therefore I have hope

Therefore I Have Hope Lamenting Before God (Lamentations 3) Have you ever lamented to God? I have. 2025 was a year of lamenting for me. I spent my days in bed with constant pain and suffering. I pray a lot during such times and recite Scripture verses that give me hope. I remind myself that 'hope does not disappoint' (Romans 5:5). One day, during that time, I was looking up a Scripture passage for a friend who told me that I had quoted it to her. I could not remember which Scripture verse I...

Christian Persecution & Revisionist History... (In Canada)

Mark Carney Does Not Know Our History Bob Marley, the famous Jamaican who made Reggae a world-renowned music genre, quoted an African proverb in one of his songs. It said, 'in the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty.' I would like to put my own spin on it in relation to our politicians and the Peace Tower. 'In the abundance of Scripture verses our politicians are God-hating pagans'. Every single day politicians, like our Prime Minister Mark Carney, walk right by the Peace Tower. They are...

Midnight Carriage or Pumpkin?

Between 2010 and 2011, I took many pictures of the Memorial Chamber and the Stained Glass Windows. Those were the years that I hosted many homeschooling families in my home south of Ottawa. I cooked for them, taught them, and traipsed around Ottawa with them, taking them to many historic places and museums. In preparing for the Lunch n' Learn #4 session for tomorrow, I came across photos that shed new light on some images in the East Stained Glass Window. Join me tomorrow for this Zoom...

And You Shall Know The Truth...

Free Class In 2026, I plan to be a generous giver of HOPE - Hope that does not disappoint. In 2025 I clung desperately to that hope, in the midst of my trials, reciting regularly that trials develop patience, which develops endurance, and endurance, hope; and hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:3-5 paraphrased). My first gift to you is a free 'Lunch & Learn' class, from 12 pm EST to 1.00 pm EST. You will learn about Canada's Christian history in the Peace Tower. This is ammunition to prepare...

Big Dreams & New Horizons

What a year 2025 has been for me, and for ChristianRoota Canada! The year began with health issues that dogged me all year long, culminating in a TIA in September. Life had come to a screeching halt. Of course in my roller-coaster experience with pain, there were brief peaks of relief before dipping into the valley of despair. Many Scripture verses I memorized in my youth became my constant companions. They whispered words of patience, endurance and HOPE. And I learned that HOPE does not...

Merry Christmas 2025

He was really a king Recently, I noticed how Matthew Chapter 1 broke up the record of Christ's genealogy in sections: from Abraham to King David; from King David to Jeconiah at the time of the captivity; and even in captivity, diligent records were kept from Jeconiah to 'Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ,' (verse 16) He was a king Who was born in a stable. Philipians 2:5-8 has taken on a new meaning for me. May the humility of Christ, the excitement of...

No Peace on Earth With the Liberal Government

The Bell Tower / Peace Tower on Parliament Hill And in despair I bowed my head;"There is no peace on earth," I said;"For hate is strong,And mocks the songOf peace on earth, good-will to men!" The words of this Christmas carol, 'I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day', has been playing in my head for the last month ever since I heard MP Marc Miller propose changes to the Criminal Code to have many books of the Bible denounced as hate literature and worthy of jail time if pastors preach those...
