In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Sherbourne Street Methodist Church in Toronto was known as 'The Millionaires' Church'. This was because many wealthy businessmen were members. The story continues with another rags-to-riches story of George Albertus Cox. He was a devout Methodist, a mayor, serial entrepreneur, politician, financier and philanthropist. His legacy lives on in the Canada Life Building near University Avenue in Toronto
